Pip's X Papaya Verte:
Vietnamese Street Food
Sunday 17th August, 11am-5pm
Pip's, 27 St Augustines Street, Norwich, NR3 3BY
Pip's is honoured to host Jaki @papayaverte for an incredibly special Sunday lunch this August! Jaki is a self-taught chef originally adopted from Vietnam; she's all about celebrating her roots through the art of Vietnamese cuisine. Jaki has been quietly working in the Norwich food scene, juggling her roles as a carer and hosting supper clubs, private dinners, and sharing Vietnamese food through cooking classes.
A platter of Nem Cua Bể and Bánh khọt will be served family style, best eaten with your hands. From Pip’s expect zingy mixed drinks, house-made nước chanh (preserved limeade) & cà phê sữa đá (Vietnamese coffee).
Nem Cua Bể are fried rice paper spring rolls filled with a mix of crab meat, shrimp, pork, and vegetables. These spring rolls originate from Hai Phong, North Vietnam, and are served with a refreshing mix of pickled vegetables, vermicelli and a zesty sweet and sour dipping sauce.
Bánh khọt, a Southern Vietnamese coastal dish, are crispy rice flour, turmeric & coconut mini pancakes typically filled with seafood and served with fresh herbs and dipping sauce.
